What does Fortis mean?
In simple terms, “fortis” means strong in Latin. I chose this name for the clinic with intention. I believe a primary care doctor needs to be someone who has a reliable, consistent, and sturdy presence in the lives of her patients. Your doctor should be someone you can count on. You are trusting your PCP with your health, and that is arguably your most valuable asset.
Leading by example
Have you ever been to the clinic for your annual physical where the doctor quickly breezes over the part where they tell you to exercise regularly, sleep well, and eat a balanced diet? Did the doctor seem like someone who practices those habits? It’s hard to listen to someone if they don’t seem like they’re actually following the practices they preach.
Folks who know me personally are well aware I spend time in the weight room consistently. It helps me stay healthy now and for the future, so I recommend it to all my patients. Getting strong is one of the most impactful habits you can develop for your health.
Fortis is the perfect name for my clinic because it encompasses my practice style and my personality.
